Trio Virado on Tour, Telemann Study Guide, 19-20 Tour Dates!
Happy 2019! I'm dancin'!! If you know me even a little, you know I love dance music and I love to dance my way through projects and performances, This year I have a newfound zeal. I've set new goals through writing in a journal, working with my trainer and setting realistic goals that serve me best. I hope you'll also find something to motivate you as the new year gets going!
It may still be very cold here in Michigan, but there's a little voice reminding me that Valentine's Day is just around the corner! If you have a special flutist on your list, check out my "Rose" Etudes--a perfect fit to show your flute love! Rose was the clarinet professor at the Paris Conservatoire at the same time as Henrí Altes. I transcribed the clarinet etudes for flute at the request of Carl Fischer Publishing.
Read on for exciting news about my upcoming projects, some Telemann to help in upcoming competitions, and dates for 2020. Have a safe and happy 2019, filled with abundant fluting! See you in St. Louis!

TELEMANN FOR THE AGES
Are you or your student preparing a Telemann Fantasia for a competition this year? There are at least a dozen that require one Fantasia or another. These fantasias are commonly found on competition lists, and for good reason. They provide a brilliant window into the style of composition used in the music of the early-eighteenth century.
These short pieces were intended for flutists of all performing levels to enjoy making music on their instrument. Check out my Telemann Study Guide to get you 110% prepared for your competition!
Also available is my companion CD, which goes with the study guide. Use both to get your Telemann juices flowing!

ANATOMY OF SOUND
I'm thrilled to join Dr. David Brown, Laura Dwyer, Christina Jennings, and Dr. Erika Boysen to present this year's Anatomy of Sound workshop.
This four-day workshop presents an opportunity for adult flute players to participate in masterclasses and join in-depth discussions about the study of flute tone, breathing, and body awareness both in flute practice and in performance.
This year, this workshop will unveil a series of research studies especially formatted for music students to study the anatomy and airflow dynamics that create an optimal tone on a woodwind instrument. See you there!
