It’s not my word for it. On the way out of the concert at my workshop at the University of Michigan, an audience member told me she was calling it a “Flute Musical.” So, I thought I’d use it to describe this story.
I was so afraid to play jazz and improvise on the flute. However, I knew what was good jazz playing and I have no confidence in myself to improvise. I need the music written out. So, with the help of some friends, I learn to let go and contemplate the journey that is playing jazz and merge the two within myself.
Join me for an hour of vulnerability and classically trained jazz.
